Mine is doing the same thing. Firestone told me it was a sensor in the rear differential. They were going to charge me 85$ to change it. Figure i can do it myself for less. been on for about 2 years though. Was told it turns abs system into manual brakes. They lock up under alot of pressure. But otherwise i haven't had any problems. Probly do need to fix it though.

How could it get worse? Would the brake controller cause this? Mine's been on since I bought the truck, ABS doesn't work either. It's not the rear sensor in my case. I jacked up the rear on jackstands, started the truck and put it in drive. The speedo worked just fine.

I lost a front pad when it happened to me. The pad cracked and seperated from the back plate and fell down between the rotor and and the metal cover. Another words, anything is possible.

ABS brakes should be outlawed, banned, deleted and the idiot that developed them should be strung up for making such a stupid unsafe accident causing item. I see now some manufactures have a lockout feature on their vehicles to lock em out, pretty much all new semi-tractors have the lockout feature, found out people were getting killed because the stupid ABS would grab and let go repeatitly, if a person cant control your own braking, you shoudnt be allowed to drive.

well after an overnight, got into her this a.m., fired up and lights went out with the rest of them and didn't come on again. checked sensor and wiring back on the diff (i assume that is the little gizmo w/ wire on the left side of the axle housing) all tight and right. maybe the dodge gauge gremlin is on the loose???

Mine is at the plug. Too much gravel has pretty much destroyed the plug and harness. I have to rewire it or get a new plug some day. I only get it once and a while.

I had the same problem with no speedo. I changed the sensor on the dif and it went away but now like 6 months later the lights are back on but I still have an accurate speedo so I'm not gonna mess with it. Once I get a good day I might pull and clean the connections but that's it.

My truck is doing this same thing now. Sometimes the brake and abs light comes on, sometimes it stays off. When they are on, the cruise doesnt work and the speedo acts up. I have no front abs, so it must be the sensor on the rear diff right. My questions is why does the speed sensor trigger the Abs light? I can understand the goofy speedo, but dont understand the abs. Would this also explain why my cruise climbs all the time unless you get really lucky on the highway. Thanks,
