Bought my first cummins yesterday have a little problem.
I was driving home from oregon on our way to seattle and went to pull over because the person following me home signaled to pull over. I hit the 4 ways and nothing happened. All the lights worked fine before we left and after I hit the 4 ways i had no 4 ways or turns and no main brake lights! I was like great... I read up on hear about this problem and found that the flasher relay going bad would cause this so I went to shucks got the flasher and plugged it in with no results. I then took my ohm meter and checked the flasher fuse on the drivers side fuse panel thing. It was fine, I went under the hood and the only thing I could think of the problem being was the hazard fuse under that main relay/fuse box on the drivers side fender. It was fine! Does anyone know what the problem could be? I need to figure it out today because I kind of bought the truck because I need to tow my rally car to doo wops next weekend and I am going to have no time to work on this truck after today.

I would pull and look at all the fuses one by one...Try fuse #1 says parking lamps 15 amp ...I know it seems like a pain but my heated seats in my 01 went out and checked all the fuses that pertained to that no luck...started pulling all the fuses and found one completely un related blow ...replaced and all was fine...Somtimes I wonder if the assembly people just mess up a wire or something... BTW if your in the NW take a look at NWbombers.com...you'll be happy you do!!!

If your ohm meter is a multimeter, start by checking voltage, and grounds from the fuse panel, flasher. lite sockets. Might point out the problem area.
Good luck, be intersting to know what you find.
BTW, I livend in NW Seattle from 1963 to Dec 2000. Sure glad I missed the past winter.

Find Your Grounds and Clean Them
I've had mysterious electrical problems on my 94. Problems like intermittent operation of the eletctric door locks and windows.
I went under the hood and found the ground wires attached to various areas. I took out the sheet metal screw or bolt holding them together and wire brushed everything. Then I oiled it and but it back together. Everything worked.
I don't know if this will fix your problem but if it doesn't consider it preventative maintenance.
