anyones column brake where the shifter is attached in it?

anyones column brake where the shifter is attached in it?

was wondering if anyone had seen a shifter mount in the column brake before,ive seen one on a 98 brake with 80,000 on it, but was wondering if anyone else seen one brake?

Sorry but I dont really know what your talking about. Brake in column? shifter mount?

auto, i guess i should explain better, the peice in the column that the automatic shifter on the column is held in with, where the shifter pin holds the shifter lever in the column, the cast peices seem to break,anyone here of this other than me,ive seen 2 of them broke already

Yes saw one of them broken, 98.5 truck. Vise grips will still shift

i know that vice gips work first hand,mine broke in park in the rd what a pain in the butt to get the torx out with the screwdriver so i could get to the column,another quality part from the people at dodge,love the trucks but they sure have stupid flaws in the trucks

I know what your talking about, never seen one first hand though. I do have a loose steering wheel where it attaches to the column. Anyone have any idea how to fix that, I really don't want to go prying at a wheel with an airbag in my face. The wheel moves up and down, pivoting right where it attaches to the end of the column, I'm used to it but would love to fix it.

the air bag is easy to take off, the bolts are on the bach side of the wheel, tqake them out and lay the wheeel down in front of you or un plug it,then there will be a wheel nut in the center that may be loose

Well, Alpine I wouldn't say mine exactly broke off. More like I ripped it off when I was mad. That was induced by the gov pressure sil. going bad.

Use the vice grips! They work great for me!
