Anyone Installed FACTORY Keyless Entry on a 99-01?
I'm wondering what's involved in the install. The dealer wants, get this, $150 to install it. It can't be that difficult!!<br><br>Thanks!

I looked at adding this feature. According to the service manual, there is a timing module (that does a lot more than timing!!!) on the firewall inside the cab below and to the right of the steering column. Anyway, this guy does a lot and is different according to the features installed from the factory. If the rig doesn't have the overhead console (trip convenience stuff), then there is a receiver that is missing in this timing module.<br><br>Long story short, I purchased an aftermarket keyless entry system....

I was under the impression that everything from the "ding, ding, ding" noise, to the cruise control was governed by the timing module, but maybe I am wrong.

Yeah, that's the way I read the service and repair manual also. The module is responsible for a lot of functions. It seems as though DC only puts in the absolute minimum components for each set of options ordered and the receiver in the cab along with the relay aren't provided if the rig isn't ordered with the factory remote entry.
