go to traedwright.com and click on research, then faq(frequently asked questions)i just checked it out explains the whole process, thair casings are inspected and approved before they put them into production, yes the companys that make them and dont tell people what they are buying is wrong,i agree with that.there is a organization called trib(tire retread repair information bureau)dot studies and tests done on retread and production tires state that properly maintained tires weather retreaded or not do not cause accidents, just take care of them and i think you will be fine there is plenty of info out there you just have to look it up.

As far as i've always been guided. Re-treads are great for the rears, and NEVER to be used on turning wheels. re-treads flying off is a common occurrence, esp with bigger trucks. I'd be interested to see just how they attach these new treads that make the tires more safe.

I've seen the "old way" where the tire is scrapped down, smooth. Then the re-tread is glued on with a rubber tar-like substance and set into a giant rubber band. Next its thrown into an oven for a few hours. Once removed they smooth out the joining where the tar oozed out and painted black so its harder to tell the difference.

Does anybody know the "new way"?

do some research a factory tire will separate just like a retread do to hard wear and improper inflation, and overloading, look up how they are made basically the same way a factory tire is,and yes you can run them on the front,of light duty trucks there is no law against it,only commercial trucks in certain states dont allow it,like i said go to retread.org and get the facts.

i went there, they didn't show too much, just had very well written answers. Nowhere did i find how they are secured to the core. youtube wasn't bringing anything any better than dirty jobs.

yeah i like the idea, just thinking i'd try them out on my plow vehicle first. The price is very appetizing and there aren't many bad reviews.

My dad, brother, and I all have retreads from Treadwright on our trucks. My dad had one or two small problems with a bad tire casing (not the tread surface), and they sent a replacement at no charge. They have good customer service which is hard to find these days. It's hard to justify spending twice the money for "name brand" tires that have the same amount of tread life as these retread tires. Hope this helps.
