changing rear brakes pads? NEW PROBLEM NOW!

I have a lovely sounding grinding noise from the rear end when I apply the brakes, so I am assuming I need to replace the pads. Is it any different than changing the front ones? I have only replaced pads on Chevys so I didn't know if there was any major differences. THanks for any info. Truck is a 2002 Dually with disc brakes. Thanks again. Bob

Only tip I can give you is that if you've been hearing grinding be prepared to change the rotors also.

I was afraid of that! Just started Saturaday, so I parked it.

Ok I just got done changing the rear brakes pads, cleaned every thing and they work great, but now the ABS & Brake lights stay on! Any suggestions? Please let me know what to look at next.

If you forced the caliper back without opening the the bleed screw you may have damaged the ABS unit.

I took the brake fluid cap off and loosen the bleed screw. I took it for a nice little drive and it quit. Everything seems to be ok now. Thanks for the info.
