aftermarket control arms

I was under my truck the other day cleaning a starter cable. I notice sloppy bushings on the control arms. I would like to go with an aftermarket control arm. What are you guys running on your trucks or heard good views on?

I have a set of the older style Thuren control arms. Hes got a newer setup that uses heims instead of bushings.

There are many styles out there. I have a aftermarket long arm lift from RCD. which i have had to rebuild and grease to many times. so make sure that you get a type that has ability to regrease without removing.

www.lorenzindustries.com.
Sean's use huge joints w/zerks.
A local shop I use installs them frequently and they are adjustable to get a true 4 wheel alignment.

Took five weeks for my friend to get his. Not the greatest customer service. They seem well built but he wishes he'd gotten the flexible joints.

I can say this IMO there are certain parts we replace with (In My Mind) the greatest replacement part. but in reality I should have years ago listened more to folks that had learned the hard way or through hard knocks if you will. I would have never bought anytype of control arm in the past that had a bushing style like the one that RCD uses if I knew better. There are better bushings out there. But next for me will be the nice greaseable links that are adjustable on both frame and axle end.

my problem that i have is the lift kit from RCD which is a long arm made me cut off my oem lower contol arm pocket on the cab end. So my option now is only to get a kit that comes with the kit that will usually mount to the frame for the contol arm end. So i have been forced to just keep dropping the arms alot and regreasing or rebuilding the bushing. until I decide on what new arms to use.

I would be finding a fabrication shop that could change the ends on the long arms to accept adjustable Hiem joints.

I can think of a couple shops around me that build racing chassis' that would be able to replace the ends on those bars.

Maybe you can end up with a system that does what you want.

I have considered that. I'm in a spot where I'm thinking of selling my truck for a 3rd gen. So I'm not sure if I'm jumping ship. If I keep my truck than I will be all in and I will be talking to Thuren. I have spoke to him in past. he is just a couple hours from me in Oregon. I want to go with a new set up with progressive Coils and likely not as high of my current lift. So time will tell.
