Adding Fog Lights - Input Needed
#16
Anybody know if the factory switch is just another notch when pulled out for the fog lights? if so is it the 1st notch after parking or ?? you would think they would just put the same switches in the standard and fog .... but I guess they wouldn't make more of the old buck that way.
Is the aftermarket switch just a hot/ground toggle?

If you areinterested in aftermarket PIAA make a light that fits right in there, the 510, in driving or fog. and they make a braket kit that comes with brakets for both openings that are in the grey factory bezel

I've got the PIAA 510's with the PIAA mounting bracket like DF5152 mentioned. Very easy install. Didn't have to take the bumper of either. I got the PIAA 510's off Ebay for about $120 and the bracket off a parts house website. Total was about $150. Not sure if that helps you out.

I bought the factory kit, seems like it was about $150, but could have been higher, don't even remember where I got it now.
It came with a harness and a relay, also new gray inserts, new switch, the regular switches pull out once you get to the park position.
You might try something like the brite box, it turn on both the hi's and lo's in the high position.

I just spent the day placing aftermarket lights in the front of my truck.
I found 4", 55w lights that are chrome plated made by Navigator (Part # NV-361W).
They fit ok, but I could not use the mounts or the plastic backing that came with the kit.
I had to screw the lights directly into the grey plastic holes in the front bumpter.
With the chrome plated lense, the final product look really nice.
Most people would probably see them as stock lights.
The kit also came with all the wiring and a push-button switch illumiated with a green LED for off and a red/orange LED when the lights are on.
The only concern I have is the lights get very hot. So hot that Im concerned that the lights will melt the grey plastic inserts in the bumper.
I ran it around the block after installation, I'll check for melting tomorrow.
The only way to get the lights in any better would be to take the entire front bumper off.
If melting did occur, removal of the bumper will be the only option (that I can tell) to get the lights fitted without melting the grey plasitc.
Hope this helps.
