96 brake controller
When I purchased my 96 earlier this year the previous owner had backed into something that damaged the stock dodge trailer connector. He said when it happened it flew a few fuses. I installed a new trailer plug in the back. Installed my Prodigy brake controller. Prodigy has power but shows N.C. when I hook up the trailer that has trailer brakes. What in the electrical system could keep the brake controller from not receiving a signal?
I checked the connection at the plug for the trailer brake and when I apply the brakes the blue wire his hot. I checked the relays under the hood. Is there some type of breaker switch or something else that could be stopping the signal from the controller to my trailer?
All turn signal, brakes and headlights on trailer work fine. I am going to try another trailer with brake just to make sure it's not a trailer issue.

Grain thanks for the advice. I just checked that with no change.
Both brake pedal and prodigy brake control manual brake lever will fire the blue electric brake line in trailer hitch connector.
I just hooked up to my buddys trailer and still had the "nc" showing. When the previous owner hit the hitch plug maybe it damaged the factory wiring harness. I might have to wire it up my self without using the factory harness.

I just jumped the #5 and #7 on the truck plug. Which is electric trailer brakes and ground. Which should simulate a trailer hooked up to the truck. Still "nc"

I installed Maxbreak and I don`t have any problems now with my trailer brakes. had my fiver out yesterday and install new e rated Michelin tires and I love the way maxbreak worked. No more constant adjusting those two wheels like my older controller.Just a slick working break controller

My Prodigy must be bad straight out the box. I have triple checked all wires and everything is good. I have constant power to prodigy on black wire. Power to red wire to Prodigy only when brakes are applied. Blue trailer brake wire in truck hitch get power when brakes are hit.
I have been using Prodigy products for over 8 years with no complaints......... Until now....... LOL...

I just put a Prodigy P3 in my truck a few weeks ago, seems good so far, although the first real test will come this weekend. Read nothing but good things about Prodigy stuff, strange yours was bad right off the hop.

Update: I had installed a new 7 pin in the back a few weeks ago. The new 7 pin was the issue. It was not allowing the trailer 7 pin to make connection. It kept the trailer plug about 1/8 of inch away from making contact. I purchased a another truck 7 pin. Wired it up and bingo. Trailer brakes work perfect.....
