How much spacer do you need? Some of the 98-99 era trucks came with wheel spacers on one front wheel for the brake pull issue. There were three thickness'es available. Maybe some members here will "donate" one to you.

Did you use your original lug nuts or the third gen. ? I have a 06 set on my 94 with no problems but I noticed that the lug nuts that came with the rims were different then the ones on it.

I used the lugs that came with the wheels so they have the lip the cap snaps on to. It took me about a month to find mine, paid $350 for wheels, caps and lug nuts.

I posted this question on another site last year when I was looking to replace my rims.
It seems that if you have the steel rims, the center caps will hit the axle end (different axles on third gens).
If you have the aluminum rims (thicker flange) they will fit without modification as mine did. I have 3 center caps with the metal inside clips and 1 with the plastic inside clip and they both fit, so I don't believe that is a factor.
Here's the post from the other site on how to get around the issue of the center cap hitting the axle end. Hope I'm not breaking any rules directing you over there.

If you are interested, I have a clean set of 4, chrome center caps off my 98.5 that will probably fit without modification.
Let me know if you're interested in my caps. I'll let them go for a reasonable price.
Good luck, Scott

Original lug nuts should work. I'm using my original nuts with factory alloys from an '07.

Thanks for the research, sounds like it should work, but it also sounds like I could use a 1/4" spacer inside the wheel since I still room for the stud sticking past the nut. either way thanks for the input I know which direction to head rather than trying to grind down the inside of the cap, I already ruined one trying lol ground down a bit too much and put a hole through it

I bought mine from a customer of mine after I noticed he had aftermarket wheels.

Find a local dealer that likes to "accessorize" their new in stock trucks. Chances are they have some wheels. Might cost you a little more there as they will also have brand new tires mounted on those rims. Another place is to put the word out at tire stores that specialize in aftermarket wheels. They'll be more than happy to sell you the take offs.

A member on here sold mine to me with tires, I think I got a good deal, others might not, guess it all depends on what you're willing to pay, I just compare to what they'd be new, and I got a steal then

Did a search on Craigslist here in Denver, this ad came right up. Good deal if they are in good shape.

3rd gen wheels

All,
I have a set of 2005 factory alloy wheels with 265/70/17 BFG rugged trail ta tires. i will be taking them off of my truck pretty quick when my other wheels arrive. the wheels are in excelent shape and the tires have normal wear. im not too sure how many miles they have on them but they have good tread left. these are very good tires i have been real impressed with them. i have the center caps also. if you are interested let me know and i will get some pics.
