was admiring how good 3rd gen wheels look on my 97 CTD

feels a lot peppier too... just took of 2.85/70R 16 w/steel rims. must be 40lbs+ lighter per wheel.

I don't like the looks of them on a 2nd gen. They have too much backspacing and sit inside the wheel well too far.

I think they look fine, 35's help that too. Here's one when I had the 37s on it.

Need spacers?

Invader,I noticed you installed 1.5" spacers. Did you have rubbing issues prior? I am installing '05 alloys & Nitto 285's tomorrow. Just wondering what kind of issues I should expect? Where did you get the spacers?

Thanks

Hey there,

No, I had 0 rubbing issues (I am using 265s, not 285s, so I can't vouch for 285s), or fitment issues of the center caps (due to the alloys. 3rd gen steelies have center cap fitment issues). They went on smooth. I only added the spacers to give the front end some lift. Chose 1.5 because I didn't want to look reverse-rake when loaded like would happen if I had leveled it (and not used air bags).

I got the 1.5s from summit. They're Daystars. Like $35 or $39 + shipping. Had them installed while the ball joints were going in.
