has anyone every put a 3rd gen steering box in a 2nd gen truck??

The 3rd gen will not fit. You can have a 12-1 ratio 2nd gen built which is the same ratio as the 3rd gen at a wholesale place in San Diego for 250.00 including shipping. their number is: 1-800-399-7845

A while back on here somebody made an adapter to make them fix on 2nd gens but I dont remember who it was.

Here's the deal slowflyer, I have a box from PSC and its a P.O.S., I dont want to play games with junk boxes. I want to try and make a 3rd gen box work.

Thanks for the link. Whats the difference between the 3rd gen and 2nd gen gear boxes, bigger gears? bigger shafts? less free play? better centering?

does anyone know the differences?

I thought that if the gear set was changed its all that would be needed....

Go over to www.nwbombers.com . That guy is a member on that board. Can't remember his screen name, but you should be able to find him. I thought the kit was a little pricey, but it's a straight bolt-on.
