305/70/16 Bfg's
Looking at installing 305 AT BFG'S and looking for any comments good or bad on this tire. Do they rub on or off road? How much does the speedo change? How is the wear rate with these tires sitting under the Cummins motor? Any comments or input would be greatly appreciated.

Going to assume you have 265/75-16's on it now.
The 305/70-16 is 1.2 inches taller, and it looks like about 1 inch wider.
If the speedometer reads 60 mph, you would actualy be going 62.2 mph.
Shouldn't have any problems with rubbing.
If it was a 305/75-16, it would be 2.4 inches taller.
Speed at 60 would actually be 64.5.
Not sure on the wear rate of the BFG AT's under the Cummins yet, only 15K on mine so far.

Any BFG AT is a good tire under the cummins. On my old ctd, i had some 33" AT's on a 16.5 in rim and ran them for 45k miles. No problems what so ever. They make one of the best tires, period. Only reson I swithced to pro comp is because I got a good deal. Good luck.

I sent a pm about this to dieselcrazy. There is a CB shop in North Wilmington,DE. called R&R Communications. The web site is rrcom.com and the phone number is 302-475-1351 or 1352. They are the best in the area and can get you just about any CB made and they do really high quality modifications. They are located in a small strip mall on Carpenter Road just a few miles from 95.

i have the BFG a\t in a 295/75/16. I have had 2 flats where the tire goes completely flat in about 5 minutes. something punctured the tread, or it blew a hole. Both have been slits about an inch long, and left me sitting on the side of the road changing a tire. I dont understand. Only thing I can do is take it to discount tire and have them fix it.

I'm running the 295/75/R16 BFG A/T's on my truck and they are wearing great. I have 20K miles on them already and they have worn better then any other tire I have bought.
I'm running 60psi front and 50 psi rear on the tires. My tires do rub at full lock when turning to the left. Sounds like you found a good deal on your tires.

cmckinney, I'd be careful w/ that much psi in the AT's....with that much air in the tire, they tend to "bubble" up in the center of the tire, making that part of the tire contact the road surface more than the rest of the tire. Thus, causing them to wear out at a faster rate. I ran my old AT's at 38 psi up front, and 36 psi in the rear. I got 45k outta my old ones. Just something to think about.
