285 or 315s on stock alum.

i'm thinking about going with mastercraft c/t on the stock alum. wheels.

i've got 4.10 rear (auto trans), and am debating on 285/75/16s or 315/75/16s.

any ideas?

thanks

I run both sizes on stock alloys. Only difference is I run 3:55 gears.

285's are no problem, 315's give me a drop in power down on the bottom end, you would push them better than I do. 315's just look so cool on these trucks!!

It boils down to your choice.

I like my 285's. With my gears I don't think I'll go any larger but if I had 4.10's and a leveling kit I'd go with the 315's. I'm not absolutely sure but I think they will rub. Why not another set of 295's?

285's 4:10,s auto. works great, no issues whatsoever, 16-20mpg, depending on weather and driving habits. plenty of power to tow anything, looks great-almost stock looking- with maybe slight attitude. no leveling kit on mine.
Brigestone Duelers, seems to be a pretty good tire so far, 12,000 miles on them. all on stock alum.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but what about 285's and 3.55's? Would it kill towing power?

285's and 3:55's tow just fine together. I've not noticed any loss of power with the 285's and I tow heavy (10,000+ lbs) sometimes. 315's will be very noticeable power wise but you can tow with them.

Ditto! Speed limits, corners and radar are my major limiters!
