2001 Laramie
Just picked up a 2001 with 66,000 miles.
Looks brand new, brand new tires and drives like it came off the showroom floor. ECM is clean. Best thing is I paid $4,000. I NEVER FIND DEALS LIKE THIS. So now I have two CTD!
Two things need addressing-
1.) Exhaust is shot
2.) Previous owner was fat, leather has worn thin and foam need to be replaced on the drivers side. The rest of the interior perfect.
I am 120 miles from a civilazation so junk yards are tough to get to. Would I be better off to order the foam and cover from Dodge?
Any advice would be great and thanks in advance.

Do you have any upholstry shops near you? If you do maybe have them take a look at the seat and see what they'll charge before going to dodge. They should be able to install new foam and recover that worn out area.
I see you have an 06, is this your first second gen dodge?

I picked up a 4" MBRP aluminized exhaust from the DTR Online store--I called Larry and he had it shipped right to my dealer that was doing the install. It won't cost you and arm and a leg and the sound is nice without being too obnoxious. I like being able to hear the turbo spool up and whine...

Sorry but no foam at dealer anymore or OEM cover and aftermarket designs/colors are just plain ugly to me.
I am looking at getting some foam from here http://bestwayfoam.com/?page=custom. I think I will get rectangle and then cut it down myself using oem as a guide.
OR
Buying memory foam and put between seat cover and foam.

I'm very sorry to let you know you got ripped off.
The seats in these trucks are un-rebuildable and will onlycause you years of grief should you attempt to fix them.
Sell this truck to me immediately for so you will at least have a dollar in your pocket. I will count to three and you will say "ok".
Upon hearing my fingers snap you will awaken and forget this ever happenend...

You can also switch the lower seat section with the passenger side. I think a couple of guys on this site have done that with moderate success.
I would check out simple turbo-back aluminized 4" exhaust systems on the web. Should be able to get one for under $300....
