1999 - 2001 Sport Headlights

I am converting my 2500 to the sport headlights. Has anyone bought the aftermarket sport headlights. They run about half of the OEM. I have found that OEM is not always the best choice but in this instance I do not know. Those of you that have bought the aftermarket sport headlights, was it worth it? Thanks, Joe

Do a search here of headlight upgrades.

I seem to remember a couple of guys who bought aftermarket and were happy.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find your sport bumper and how much did it cost? They are rare as hens teeth around here, and I need to either buy the plastic for my standard bumper or find a sport bumper somewhere.

I did the headlight conversion on my '01. I bought the headlights from importvision.com and the harness from suvlights.com. The difference is lighting is like night and day (pun intended). Well worth the money in my opinion.

I don't have a sport bumper. When the kids stop sifoning money off of me I am going to get the big wrap around front bumper with the grill and headlight guards and the internal winch mount. Thanks for the response. I have already got the items for the harness conversion in route but I was trying to decide on the lenses to go with OEM or aftermarket. I think I am goint to go ahead with the aftermarket. Joe

If you are buying new, I think it is probably worth it. I searched the archives and didn't find any negatives on the aftermarkets. I did the conversion back in Feb. but found a pair of sports for $50 each at the local recycler. One lens is from a 99 and the other from an 01. Huge difference regardless of new or used. You won't be disappointed. Make sure you also get the matching sidelamp as the non-sport sidelamp doesn't mate to the sport headlights.
regards,

Thats what I thought from the reading I have done. I am going to buy the pair complete with side lamps. So far I have seen new from $189.00 to $210.00. Joe
