1995 power door lock repair
i have come up with a tentive power door lock repair that may help someone
i dont know how many years dodge used this assembly.
your motors must still run and not shorted
I have been having problems with both my power door locks on my 1995 dodge truck and I decided to look into the problem today I found that the door latch and power lock is a unitized assembly. They operate by small electric motors controlled by centrifugal brakes internally. Both my motors still ran but power locks would not function( just made a growling sound) I checked at my salvage yard and was told that if they had any they would be 75.00 apiece used; and be prepared for a shock if you price new ones. I disassembled one (nothing ventured nothing gained)and came up with
this fix
to test lock assy momentarilly put 12 volts on the pins in the connector then reverse polarity the motr should run and it should toggle the lock section.

This is what the motor assy looks like internally
the bar I reference can move does not physically connect to the flat plate holding the gears except on the folded end

Hey thanks for the great post. I've been fighting my drivers door lock for months. Like yours, I could tell the motor was working as it would make a growling noise, but would not work the lock. After reviewing your fix, I finally got the nerve to attempt it. Took me awhile as I went about it really slow, but got it done and it works just fine now. Thanks again.

Hey mt72916, 10 years later and your post is the only one I can find that attempts a fix of the motors.
Only problem is the images you shared are no longer available. Any chance you remember what you did or still have the photos laying around to share?
My driver side motor is running and the door lock moves a little but just doesn't go the full unlock/lock distance.

Welcome to the forum, you have posted in a very old thread and many of these folks no longer post here. You may want to start your own thread, there are a lot of experts here and they can probably help. You can thank Photobucket and their change in policy for the loss of the photos. A quick look at rockauto shows this:
