lot of people die from chains pulling people out too, but it still happens everyday.

i know, if it was my rig, i'd just go and use someone's hoist.

anyways, he can't be too much of a moron if he sucessfully converted his 1500 to a 2500 cummins.

the stupidest thing he did was to take a picture to show everyone else, lol.

Rick,

I had forgotten about that truck. It is well done, highly inpractical for me, but very well done none the less.

you've got a 5 in 6 chance of winning a hand of Russian Roulette, but do you really wanna play?

of course not on the russian roulette, but it ain't me.

as long as nobody goes under the truck, who cares if it falls. his problem.

but if you drive down a back road and find someone stuck, and use a chain to pull them out, thats way more risky(for both people), then a truck on tires, in my opinion, unless you have little kids you can't control running wild around the area. lol.

just a little rant.

know of 1 in missoula that has had no major issues. his is a 94 1/2 ton he did swap out the rear axle for a dana 60 with 35 spline shafts but is still 5 on 5 he noted his ball joints are a little more prone to wearing out but that he only picked up 700lbs overall. part of that can be for the rear end and another 550-600 in engine and tranny he did take his winch & bumper off at the time of the conversion and that was a good 400lbs+ weight hanging out there before i think he went with 3.07 gears and the nv4500 might be 3.23 gears i cant remember but with 315's the thing hums down the highway gettign almost 27mpg with a 160hp 1994 motor with a #5 plate and 17* timing and nothing else done. its got over 150k miles on it since the conversion and the frame and all other drivetrain components seem to be holding up no problem.

FYI he took a wrecked 94 3/4 ton and got the motor, tranny/t-case, and cab which was the same white as his truck and swapped it on. the intercooler and rad he had to buy as well the rear axle was no longer in one piece. i think total he had 2200 in buying the totaled truck, 800-1000 more in misc parts in the conversion and then he orderdd up the dana 60 custom from dyna trac for the rear so i dont remember the price tag on that. his objective though was to stay 5 on 5 1/2. and so far no problems
i do recall something about wresting with swapping motor mounts or one being bent but my memory is getting about as bad as reliable as our politicians these days
