Well, that was more or less directed at mopar-or-no-car since he had a handle on 2nd gen tow mirrors with power/heat without doing the conversion.

I just looked on the website for Kool Vue and the only towing mirrors I see are listed for 2002-2005. I am sure they are referring to the 3rd Gen models.

Same thing I found as well. Maybe there is another site?

http://www.kool-vue.com/lookup_details_new.aspx

part #dg49el and dg49er I didn't post the link before cuz I was sure If it would count as an add. But this looks like what we have all been waiting for.

and I also found it on another site http://www.car-stuff.com/carparts/do...49el85545.html

For some reason the pics arn't coming up. But I found a set of them on ebay thats where I got the pics but there was just the one set.

Now I am thinking of buying them and just selling my 2nd and 3rd gen mirrors and get some money back that way.

Check those part numbers. They list them for the 98-01 1500s. Not sure if they fit ours.....

I am in need of the glass in the passenger heated mirror, not the towing mirror, just the standard one.

All the models can have the same mirrors in a second gen. I really want tow mirrors, but I am going to have to keep searching ebay and the boneyards for some cheap ones. Thanks for the link to the instructions on how to make them.

The only thing I notice is the convex is in the upper/outer corner rather than the lower/outer....maybe a copyright infringement or something so a minor change was called for. They look pretty good to me. If the connector wiring is set up for 2nd gens than its all thought out. The 3rd gens don't plug directly into the 2nd gen harness. Kurt

Shawn, thanks for the pic. Nice to see exactly what the mirror look like on a truck. I would look around the board some. The 1500 in 2001 has the gen 3 mount. So Kool Vue doing a 98-01 is not correct...

$160 each side seems rather high to me. For that amount, I can buy **** mirrors. If someone tries these from Kool Vue, please post and let us know.
