Interesting. I'd like to see the tests on that. Maybe somebody with a mechanical oil pressure gauge can chime in about the pressure spikes.

 

I've seen 24 valve mechanical gauges spike up to over 100psi, the top of the gauge range, on a cold start. I would think if it spiked up to 250 that it would trash any 100psi gauge.

 

I have a mechanical guage in another unit that has an ISB and it will flirt with 100psi if one of my all star employees gets on it while it's still cold. I run fleetguard stratopore filters and have never experienced any warping or leakage.

 

I've run wix since new and have never experienced this.
