Why does my truck's performance change so much?
So yea like the topic says
Aside from my tranny problems, I start it and its really loud and deep and its a lot faster than normal... sometimes its quieter and more raspy and slow as hell
Im talking probably a good 2 second difference over a 1/4 mile
whats the deal with that? any ideas?

Performance wise is what he's talking about. I know what you mean. Some days, mine's real authorative sounding and runs like a scalded dog. Other days, I've been mistaken for a ricer and the truck can't hardly get out of it's own way.

Mine does the same thing, and I do my filters on the 5-10-20 schedule. If is just like some women, sometimes they want to perform, and other times they are "If you want too, I guess".

I dont think this is just a 24vavle issue. Im no diesel expert, but Ive noticed the same thing on my daily driver (95 12valve). Ive also noticed it on both Pete's that Ive worked on.
Id believe that it was a combination of atmosphere (air temps, humidity, etc) and the quality of the fuel.
Perhaps even how the fuel is affected by atmospheric conditions.
Im just guessing, I dont have an answer, but these trucks do have on and off days.
