White Smoke at Startup
Hey guys. Hope this is an easy one. In the last week or so I have been getting a white puff at startup. It doesn't last long and it does it when the engine is cold or warm. The temps here have varied from the 30's to the 70's here lately and has puffed during all of those. The mileage on my truck is 73000. Any ideas?

I seem to get it too... I think its the fuel that does it. Winter time fuels are blended differently. So I don't think its a problem.
Any other ideas???

It is mostly normal, Although if you grid heater is not functioning properly this will increase the white smoke. when the engine AND intake air are cold this happens. Ford powerstokes 99 to be exact have a glowplug relay issuse that creates tons of white smoke. So when your grid heater is malfunctioning it does the same thing. Peace and Share your knowledge it how we will get to the moon...

I've had a lot of people come to me complaining of this lately, have had it myself.
I think it's just crappy fuel.
Switch stations and see if it makes a difference.
