I have already ordered a set of gauges. Fuel pressure out to the VP44 will be one of them. After that I may feel more comfortable letting the filter go longer between changes. I only put about 7500 miles a year on it and have had the fuel filter changed every other oil change, basically once per year.

I just bought this Napa 3585XE supposed to be a replacement for the 2001, the only difference I see is it does not snap into to vessel lid. is this a problem?

I always watch my fuel pressures. I have yet to see a filter cause mine to drop. I change it weather it needs it or not at 15,000 to 18,000 miles.

I get mine from the local freightliner shop off the I-85. They stock everything but the air filter for my truck, but if I call in advance they can order me one.

Used to get mine from the local Cummins shop.
They no longer stock filters for the 5.9, but can order them.

I've been ordering mine from www.hoeslidiesel.com.
