Wheel Bearing Upgrades
http://www.emsoffroad.com/products/hubconvert.htm
Anyone done this. It seems like it is well worth the money for these expensive wheel bearing replacements.

YES, last month,
Steers better, Vibration at 50-60 is gone,
Can go to 2 wheel low without hubs locked ( great for moving a heavy load in tight space) No binding of 4x4 on dry ground,
front diff/ujoints/etc should last forever..
Greesable wheel bearings, Wheel bearings available any auto parts store,
Can be replaced at much less cost than hubs.
And, Looks like better fuel milage, Still checking, need more miles to get
actual improvement...
( non CAD should really show a big MPG improvement )
Plus, I like the looks of the old style locking hubs, looks like a real truck.
and you get to meet new people asking about the Hubs....

Did you purchase the kit from them? Or did you go through another company? And that's what i like to hear. Because if you replace two set's (4 Total) of wheel bearings your saving money with this setup.

I dont really see the benefit for CAD vehicles... Granted replacing bearings will be cheaper.. really no increase in MPG is to be expected... All that turns is the stub shafts... the driveshaft isn't turning..
For my truck its $1295 for a conversion kit... I can replace my dang unit hubs for $260 a side... Have to replace them 3 times to make the conversion kit worth it...

Bought the kit from EMS, They are a small company, no distributers,
You can deal with the owner ( Eric )...
As for the front shaft turning with a CAD, Not sure,
but the spider gears turn, I thought the driveshaft also turned,
Need someone to verify this, I did notice the slight vibration at road speed
was gone.. And CAD is removed, another design problem gone.
As for MPG, I have not enough data to Positively confirm Hubs saved any Fuel
I suspect a small increase when unloaded, less when loaded.
I bought truck with 50k miles, plan on keeping it for 10 years/200k miles
or to my EOL . So, Hubs seemed like a good idea, so far ( ~ 5k miles )
happy with conversation.
Note, Both removed hubs were tight ( very tight ) I do not know if this is normal, I assume new hubs would have been required eventually,
My guess 600-800 installed price,,, not counting road side coasts.
( 90 per cent of my driving is away from home )
Need a Hubs conversion post with everyones results.to date

qwest, doesn't the EMS conversion also make your front rotors the slip on variety?
That alone would make me want to do it, I positively HATE driving the studs out to remove a rotor for turning.
Also, did they tell you what application the rotor was from in case you ever need to get replacements?
Getting ready to do mine soon, glad to hear the positive experiences W/ EMS.
