What size socket for MAP sensor

I need to go buy a deep socket to get my MAP sensor out. Does anyone know what size it takes?

Uh, oh. Small problem. 13/16" is the socket size for the IAT sensor. The MAP sensor is a bit bigger than 13/16. Looks like about 1" or so. Anyone know? I really don't want to keep going back and forth to the store to get the right size socket.

I read somewhere that a 32mm deep socket is the correct size and I bought one just for that purpose although I haven't used it yet.

Yep...1 and 1/4

How do you know when they should be cleaned? Is there a schedule or something...or a performance drop? What should you use?

I am cleaning both of my intake sensors (IAT and MAP) since my truck is smoking more than normal. I'd say that cleaning them every 50,000 miles would be good preventive maintenance.

Sorry, i got confused i thought they were both the same size. I realized this when i tried to do the Map sensor first and didn't have a big enough deep socket.
Sorry again, dieselfan

Don't worry about it. I had to clean the IAT also. That thing was filthy. I can't wait to see the MAP sensor (as soon as I find a parts store that carries a 1¼" deep socket ).

My 1 1/4 socket and six inch extension are Great Neck brand, but I don't remember where I got them.

When I cleaned mine it was a 32mm DEEP socket and I had to use a universal joint to get in there. Make sure you get some electrical parts cleaner.
