I get a read out on my odometer that says PPCU then 1693 . then P ECU 0216. what do thes codes mean? I had some trouble with the truck not wanting to accelerate last weekend, plus one morning at startup it would notspeed up-just alot of white smoke when I hit the go pedal.

 

1693 - a companion code has been detected in the ECU

0216 - the VP44 injection pump death code - timing failure

This is consistent with the symptoms you describe.

Thanks for the Quick reply..I called our local dealership to see what they had to say..now I'm scared to take it there! Noone there seemed to know anything about the codes or diesels for that matter. BUT I suppose someone needs to look at it, I just hope they can learn fast!

 

I'd find another dealership.... depending on your mileage you should still be under warranty.
