I have the same issues with our dealers around here.
I told them that I'm getting 3 1/2 psi at wot and they don't seem concerned at all. One told me to wait until I get 0 psi at idle then come in. I asked how much would a new pump cost and he said $342. Their all crazy!

I just changed out mine on a 99, 208,600 miles original lift pump.It was still working part time the check valve was sticking open and showing no pressure at times, otherwise it would have 7-8 at isle and 11-12 under a load. I have never been able to prime the system when changing the fuel filter using the old lift pump, new one will though - huge difference wonder if the new one's pump more volume?

3 lift pumps gone in the first 23k miles. The fourth time I installed a Holley Red pump in front of the fuel tank, inline with a stock fuel pump mounted in the normal place. 20 psi idle, 17 psi cruising, 13 psi WOT. Been behaving well for 26k miles. VP44 happy so far.
Dealer said glad you fixed it, we won't look, one less problem we have to deal with. Good attitude.
