This has happened twice now in the last month. Same circumstances each time. Truck had been off for less than 5 minutes when I needed to start it again.

I crank it to start and it fires up just fine but immediately revs all the way up to near redline and then dies. Then if I try to crank it again immediately it wont turn over. I wait about 30 seconds and the truck starts up and runs just fine!

Any thoughts on what this could be? Thanks

I'm no expert on the VP/or Dodge, but it sounds like a ground issue, based on your comment about "it wont turn over" I'd start with cleaning all grounds at the battery and ensure there are good grounds from the battery to BOTH the body and the engine.

Sounds like a VP issue. I don't know if the APPS will allow a start at WOT. I have never tried it. But I would assume the idle switches would stop that.

So, possibly the APPS.
