What does your fuel filter look like?

I do my fuel filter every other oil change. Thus, the fuel filter gets changed out about every 9,000 miles on average.
Yes, my filter looks much like that of JR's but not that dark.

I have only had one clog from a load of bad fuel and it didn't look very bad. Just a little darker. I was having pressure fluctuations and put on my spare lift pump. There was no change and the first thing I thought of was some sort of electrical problem. I chased that for awhile and as a last resort changed the filter. It only had 5 or 6k on it but that was the problem. When I looked closer at the filter it had some sort of semiclear sticky goo on it. I thought I was going to have to drop the tank and flush it but have had no problems since with about 25k on the clock. I did have a couple of premature lift pump failures and have wondered if it was all connected. I now have close to 20 k on the walbro system with no problems at all so maybe the gremlins have moved on... Knock on wood!!!

If sitting in drivers seat it is on left hand side of engine compartment with a silver looking bowl. Filter is inside of that bowl. Last place I buy filters is at the dealer so many other cheaper places to get them online.

My filter looks dark to when I change mine, I just thought it was the 2-cycle oil I add to the fuel. I added a post filter gauge and never see a change in pressure after a new filter.
