What Do You Guys Think???
'02, auto 112,000 2002 dodge 4x4 diesel trade???? he said it has a little loose steering, and a couple of little dings on the doors. Replaced VP44 recently, $14,500
He wants to trade my Jeep + cash for the truck to make up the difference. The truck is over priced at $14,500. But I also don't want to take a hit on my Jeep. After everything I have done to my Jeep it's worth $8000 to someone who would use it, but to a normal every day person understanding nothing about Jeep's it's not worth $8000. KBB has his truck marked at $13,750, but KBB has my Jeep marked at $5500 which is around what I paid for it bone stock, and it runs a heck of a lot better now and can perform better.

Looks clean, but $14,500 is not a "need to move it" price. If he is willing to trade for your jeep then might not be bad.
We both know that when you upgrade you won't get your money back. I don't know what you have done to your jeep, but Going by the KBB prices you have I would start at the jeep plus $5k and not go over $6k.

The major things the Jeep has is a KOZ full roll cage ($800), 4.88 Yukon gears in the axles($1400), SYE/CV rear driveshaft($550), 3" suspension with adjustable control arms and trackbars($1000), Corbeau suspension seats($650). That's just some of it. Like I said before to someone that will use the Jeep like it's built for that stuff is well worth the price of the Jeep. The Jeep is very reliable and strong too, it's just not some rusted out beater Jeep, it doesn't rattle or anything, great smooth Jeep.

Now about the truck...get this, it doesn't make sense to me. I have never heard of a vp44 doing south without the lift pump not being the fault. The owner said he had the vp44 replaced but the lift pump was tested and was pumping 7psi so they did not replace the lift pump just the injection pump. I thought to myself, why not replace the lift pump it's cheap insurance.

VP44's have had electronic failures that have caused them to go south, but from what I've gathered the electronic issue seems to be also heat related. If the lift pump is "only" pumping 7 psi while being tested, in my book that is low (at how many GPH?). I don't like anything under 10 psi at WOT. I have 15.5 idling and 10.5 at WOT.

7psi idle is normally 0 at WOT. If your paying $1250 for a injection pump why not pay another $100 for a new LP? It does sound fishy, maybe a good way to push the price down. It wouldn't be a deal breaker to me though. Just put a good LP infront of the VP44.
