Exclamation Which way to turn the Oilguard filter ?

OMFG!!! Been under my truck and can't find the directions to refer too. I called Oilguard, now known as some eco place and left them a message since no one is answering the phone.

Can someone please tell me which direction to turn the blasted filter casing ? Pleeeeseee. I have tried both directions and it blasted tight either way. It's loose in the middle if that makes any sense, but grrrrrrr...

Thanks Oh yeah, please be specific i.e. "if looking down at the casing from the top where all the hoses are in....etc...." Whew...I feel better...

Thank you....

Looking up (while laying on you back underneath), turn the felter left (counterclockwise), to loosen the filter. Do the opposite (turn right) to tighten.
Lefty --Loosey
Righty --Tightee

I installed an oil guard on my 2001 Ford 7.3l diesel too. When I first tried to change the Oil Guard filter - Guess What!! It would not loosen not matter what I did. I even had a 6 sided socket on it with a long breaker bar. Still would not loosen!!! I then tried an air impact wrench and keep uping the air pressure on the impact. I sweated on this thig for 2 hours and finally with the ipact and then back to the long breaker bar, I finally got it loose. I think someone at Oil Guard Manufacturing is either tightening these filter covers way to tight or maybe they jam the runner sealing gasket in the threads??? Whatever they are doing, they are definitely doig something wrong!! What a Pain!!!
