No, I discovered my diaphram leaking. Have you pressure tested yours yet with compressed air (<45lbs)? If the diaphram is not leaking it should be OK. I replaced mine with a spring. Links and another.

Yea, pressure tested it. We noticed it has been 'dinged', hit some how. The body of the WG is bent and warpped.

I asked my dodge dealer for giggles and they said $210. Banks has a bighead for about $180. The trubomaster kit says $130. I spent $5.32 at the HW store.

Does the spring allow the wastegate to open when needed? I see that you can adjust the tension with the turnbuckle, however, that spring looks kinda of beefy.....

Since I don't have a boost gauge yet I can't tell you what my boost is! It is a 46lb spring according to the package. For my 1st trial I put on an old pwr window motor spring off an Audi (weaker..maybe 20+lbs) with some bailing wire and felt, accoarding to the butt meter, a definite improvement over the leaking, non working, stock actuator. I replaced the "trial" spring with the one shown and it ran even a tad better....... It must be opening because I am not getting a check engine light (like I did with no spring) indicating overboost and it is running better.....hence the ECM is not telling he VP44 to defuel like it would if it was not opening at all and I was in an 'overbost' situation.

Yea, no numbers or hard scientific proof, but feeling is beliving..... for now. Thinking about getting the Scan Guage to validate my butt meter. If you read enough on this forum, tech articals, other fourms, and tech articals...... and think about it for a minute, you will come to understand that there is a heck of a lot of exhaust pressure comming out of that turbo, hence it is more than enough to overcome a 46lb spring. I wish I could say a 35lb spring=35 lbs of boost, but I don't think it is that linear or strait forward....heat loss etc, so I fudged a bit.
