Nope nothing special. truck was stock up till about those miles & it never actually died but was getting noisier & not sounding too good, so I replaced & so far 15K on the new one going good, but I have an EZ now so we'll see, I did nothing special to it just basic fuel filters & stuff.<br><br>DRecu!

Re:want sick LP to experiment with...
Gary,
I've got one with 174K, (yes, one hundred sevety four thousand miles) stock original that I replaced just for piece of mind that still put out good pressure. A little more 'used' than your looking for? Or is it a freak of Cummins nature to have one last that long? The only waranty claims on the truck was the VP44 was replaced at 3500 miles (I replaced it again at 174K) and the truck is about to roll over 190K here in a few weeks.

Drew, actually, if you don't mind parting with it, I think it might be a good idea to look over a high-mileage pump to actually see what the wear in a good one SHOULD look like - most don't make it that long! As with the others, glad to repay shipping, UPS address is the street address up above, or can give you my PO box mailing address if you prefer - thanks!

"Have you found out anything on my old one yet?"<br><br>I want to wait until I get about 3 on hand in varying conditions for the benefit of comparison - it's gonna be messy to test, disassemble them inspect and set various components up for side-by-side display and photos - so far, yours is the only one I have - I don't want to duplicate the mess several different times - do it once, as right as I know how, and be done with it! ;D ;D ;D

Re:want sick LP to experiment with...
I'm having mine replaced Tuesday morning by the dealer , under warranty. If they let me have the old one I will send it to you. 2001.5, 49,000 miles, works but pressures are getting a low, 11 at idle, 3 at WOT, 5.5 at 2000 rpm in neutral sitting still, no arguement from dealer about pressure numbers or warranty.
A PO box would be better for me, P.O. just up the road, but UPS in town, 35 miles or so away.
Not sure if dealer will give me old one but I will try to talk them out of it!
