Kerry,
Stock trucks, the CAD (center axle disconnect) is vacuum actuated. That can be a sketchy system and the actuator and vacuum lines are prone to failure. With the Poso-Lok, you get a cable actuated system. It cost me $200 here in southern Alberta. Well spent money!!!

Just put my posi lock in the other day. We're not getting any snow yet but I already know it's gonna be superior to that stupid vacuum system. Found the kit on a 4 wheel site for 172 shipped, stoked!! Pretty straight forward clean set up.

Just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. Your transfer case is still pulled off the floor lever but your front axle won't engage until you pull the cable for the posi lok? I can see now how that would be good with the "NEW" 2wd LO option. I used to have an old Ford with 2wd LO, that was nice to have. I'm gonna have to check out this Posi-Lok just for that option!

I have had my Posi-Lok in for a little more than a year and love it. Easy install and good solid operation. If you have any questions, just ask.
