Want to delete 4wd vacuum lines...
Hey all.
So after messing with and replacing vac lines for the last few years, Im really wanting to get rid of the 4wd vac lines all together.
Looking at getting one of these, as this is basically how the newer 02's and most all 02+ dodges are.
http://www.puredieselpower.com/catal...66dab117ffe922
Seems all real easy, except, what should I do with thevac lines coming from the t case? Can I just plug em or what?
Any ideas or anything from someone thats deleted the stupid trouble causing lines would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Ian

I would say get the Posi-Loc kit insted, what your looking at is going to make you change out universals all the time.. I run the posi-loc system in my 99 and i love it. works well and never had any problems.. Its more money than that thing your looking at but worth it to not have the front end running all the time.

I 2nd the posi lok, have had for several years and really like the 2 lo option for backing trailers, less stress on clutch. 4wd once engaged is always locked in, never any guessing or waiting to engage or disengage.

Thanks for the quick replys guys!
Originally I wanted the posi lock, but me and my buddy with a later 02 were looking mine over compared to his, on the late 02's, they basically have the perm lock. His front drive line is always spinning, it's like dodge finally realized the vac lines were a joke so just locked the front axle so it's only the t case that needs to shift for 4 wheel.
So if I do either one, posi or perm, what'd you guys do with your vac lines??

Ok that's what I figured. A storm is coming Thursday and with no time to order the posi lock and get it by then, I just picked up a new vac line and 4wd is working again.
While I was hooking up the new line I realized how easy it'll be to do the posi lock and just Cap vac lines.
Which Is for sure on the list for mods. Thanks for the info guys. As always, much appreciated.

Works just as good as a Posi-Loc and takes about the same amount of time to install, but it will only cost you $30

On the advice of the good folks on this site I did Posi-Lok a year ago. Best money I have spent in a long time. I highly recommend it. If you want more details about ease of install etc, let me know.

Maxwell, that'd be like perm locking it wouldn't it? Like in the beginning of this thread?
No mpg difference with posi lock, it gets rid of the vacuum lines for 4 wheel drive, which commonly have issues, and turns it into all solid reliable mechanical engagement. Vac linds tend to be a pain for 4 wheel drive, this just gets rid of em.
Check out the links in this thread and it'll explain it.
