woulda been a great excuse for one of those new VP-44's I have been reading about.

The flow test is very easy for somebody who is capable of changing a lift pump- just attach a piece of hose somewhere on the outlet of the lift pump and bump the starter- let the fuel run into a jug or whatever and with a stopwatch take the time- then measure how much fuel came out and compare with the specs. (you may have to calculate a bit if you LP runs longer or shorter than defined in the specs)

Taking it to a chevy dealer is another way of dealing with it- the question that remains is whether he got something better out of this deal
