vp44 differences??
Are there any differences in vp44's?? Does it matter where I get it from??
Are any enhancements to the vp44 that would help to prevent the vp44 from failing??
I looked at Blue chip Diesel's website and see they have an injection pump to replace the stock vp44, but I am not sure if it is worth it....

Flatty I am not refering to the fass... I agree the fass replaces the lift pump... If you look under the Specials tab (http://www.bluechipdiesel.com/specials.html) you will see the stock pump, and also the blue chip pump.
Jafaw what do you mean by your -027 and -028 numbers.. I am starting to learn and ask more questions about this since I am replacing my vp44 this weekend.
thanks,
Herold

-027-- Standard Output pump (ETC engine code)
-028-- High Output Pump (ETH engine code)
The HO has a different, more aggressive cam ring (like a bumpy donut hole) and smaller plungers (7mm vs 7.5mm). The HO pump is also using more of it's potential out of the box. Thus, a fueling box on an HO makes about 30hp less than on an SO truck.
"Hot Rod" pumps combine parts from the two to try and get the best of each. Think of it as a HO pump with larger plungers from the SO.
