VP options
Hey.
For the past month I've had the POS 0216 code. No problems yet, one little incedance of dead pedal but I reset the APPS and nothing since. No funky idle or anything. I know I'm pushing my luck and was wondering where ya'll suggest to order one from. Also HRVP or SOVP?? I've heard Blue Chip or Industrial Injection? Another thing, a P-Pump would be kinda neat How many of you guys have done this? How much cost wise? Time wise? Just checkin options. With the P-pump, would regular 24v injectors work? Do they need to only be tweaked? Thanks in advanced.

TNutcher,
Give us a call and we can discuss all your options. I have run the HRVP, Standard VP and a p-pump conversion.....

Thanks guys. Ill give you a call when I get home. We're on a family vacation right now (Mother's car). Has anyone done the P-pump conversion on here that wouldn't mind talkin about it? Kit or no kit, either way. I'm going to do it myself at our shop at the ranch whatever I do. Thanks again,

I know that you balked at the FASS - trust me - a P-Pump conversion can and will cost WAY more than a FASS.
Plus, most guys with 24V's that run a p-pump are also running twins....a p-pump conversion puts out a lot of hp and if this truck is your daily driver, you might not be impressed with it as it isnt that streetable.
Im quite sure Jetpilot will tell you the same thing.

Thanks Dr. Thats what I've heard, its either streatable or race only, not both. But still I like the Idea of machanical, less chance for failure, and I can tinker with it myself, rather than using a computer. But yeah i know, i shoulda maybe bought a 12v then...lol. Thanks though,

No doubt - the 12V P7100 pump is dead reliable....do a search here. There is about a 6 page thread under aftermarket/performance that gives some good info on a conversion. Also, call Jetpilot for his input, his knowledge is first hand and mine is not.
Edit - here are some links that might help you out - * look at the last poster in the first link *....:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ghlight=P-Pump
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ghlight=P-Pump
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ghlight=P-Pump
It definitely can be done....and the price will vary....and it will need some tuning to get it setup just right.

I don't think you can go wrong with a p-pump conv. The shop that did mine does them for like $2500-3000. Mine with stock injectors with a 4k kit and a little inside tweaking of the pump will build at least 45 psi of boost with my dearly departed hx-40, wastegate was set around 45 psi. I will be hitting the dyno next month after getting some DV's and bumping the timing a little

I'll bet your's doesnt have the oil passages in #6 hole like mine does, I thought it would run better if the oil got all the way on top of the piston Once I get back up there to get the block I'll get some pics posted

Puller, is all of your cruise and stuff working correctly?? I've read of how people have had it set up but sounds like a rig it yourself thing to me. Everything else works good?? Also what pump do u have? 215hp I'd imagine? Thanks u two!
