The valve lash should be checked at 150k or 150 hrs. The lash on the intake is 10 thou and exhaust 20 thou.

Here is a link to the valve adjustment process for a 12v. The process will be the same except for finding top dead center. To find top dead center on a 24v. You need to take the oil fill tube off. Once you have it off, look at the injection pump gear....you will see a scribe mark. This scribe mark is TDC when you have it at the "notch" on top of the oil fill tube hole. Adjust valves that it calls for then rotate engine 360 degrees and adjust the other half.
Some engines vary on valve adjustment. I have seen some that really benifited at 60k. But they were mostly severe duty service trucks.

Hey Jed,
Actually you will only have to adjust 6 intake valves and 6 exhaust valves since each rocker has a crosshead that lets 1 rocker control both of the mating valves for that cylinder.
Good to see another CTD owner in my neck of the woods. Maybe sometime we can all get together for a dyno or cookout.

The only one I am familiar with is in OKC...Jim Fulmer uses it frequently. There is one up in Tulsa but I cant remember were at the moment. They used it at the last get together after they raced at the dragstip in Tulsa. Dynos usually run around 50-100 bucks for 3 runs.
