Valve Adjustment Timing Mark

Im reading over the valve adjustment procedure and Im wondering where on the engine the timing mark is located. The book does not say.

Im guessing that its right in front of the VP44 and I cant see it because of the access cap from what I read. Ill have to look tomorrow.

You have to unscrew the round black thing that the breather hose is hooked to, really good example on the "How to replace a VP 44 video" by Diesel Dan.

What nickg said. Unscrew the breather hose and you'll find the timing gear and it's mark.
