Valve Adjustment Needed?
Looking for advice.
I've got 165,000 miles on my '00. Does the valvetrain need to be adjusted at all anytime soon? It runs great but I put on about 1000 to 1500 unloaded highway miles a week on it and I try to keep it in good shape. If the valves should be checked and adjusted, is it any more difficult than adjusting valves on a small block?
Thanks for the info.

Valve adjustment should be done, will take only some time- about 1-2 hours for the untrained including the cleanup.
Remove valvecover
Remove plug on front cover (where the VP44 is )
Turn engine over until the indicator on the pump gear is in the 12:00 position.
(Turning the alternator will work, having a mirror to see the mark is also very nice)
Measure Intake valves on cyls. 1 2 4 exhaust on 1 3 5
Intake should be 0.152mm-0.381mm (0.006" to 0.015")
Exhaust should be 0.381mm-0.762mm (0.015"-0.030")
Adjust if necessary.
Turn engine through 360 deg crankshaft, the indicator will be at the 6:00 position, measure:
Intake 3 5 6 Exhaust 2 4 6
Adjust as necessary, mount valvecover wash hands go for a spin

It's actually very easy, cause lifters are solid. The 24V has 4 valve per Cyl, but only 2 push rods(tubes) per cyl, there is a v shaped piece of steel that connects the rocker to the valves, measure where the rocker meets the v.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to take care of it myself. Are the vave cover gaskets reusable or should I have a new one on hand?
