Two Cycle Diesel

Saw on another forum where some were putting 2 cycle engine oil in their tanks. I dumped a quart in a full tank today. Within 2 minutes, the engine ran quieter, and seemed smoother. This was more than wishful thinking, since I know what it sounds like in 20F weather, and this sounded like it was fully warmed up in 70F weather within 2 minutes.

Has anyone else tried this? What results did you get?

I've been running 2 cycle oil the last month. I've been dumping in about 1/2 a quart per 20 or so Gallons of diesel. I haven't noticed any difference yet in running smoothness or MPG's. I've been running it for the purpose of keeping the ip lubricated better than the ULSD will solo.
I did clean the IAT sensor 2 weeks ago (which was black) and gave me 1 or 2 MPG gain.

I run 1/2 quart or more in each tank along with a tiny bit of power service in the white bottle. runs smoother with better milage. I'd say she likes it!!

It quiets down my injector pump noise and gives me a little more mpg.

Definitely makes it quieter for me. I can not tell the difference in fuel mileage, it depends more on the traffic lights. A friend of mine reluctantly tried it on his 24V after I told him and reported 1-2 mpg increase for very long highway runs that he occasionally makes.

I've got that web page on my Favorites list. I saw that on a thread about 1 month ago and that's what sold me on the diesel fuel additives for the ip. The 2 stoke seems to be a good compromise between cost, availability, and micro improvement. JMO. I do want to try that opti-lube summer blend but i haven't found it yet.

I have it saved as well it seems like everytime this topic comes up, which as of late its been lots, I just post the link to save from-typing again and again. It is a pain, why do folks not use the search feature first then if you cant find what your looking for, then post? it seems like the posters (first timers) always post the same questions over and over, after a while people just stop responding to posts

ok my rant is over

While I share your anoyance, it is wise to consider that knowledge passed down over they ears in ANY field of study depends on the patience and willing attitude of those who know imparting that info to those who do not know.

Which is, after all, a major part of the reason these message boards exist.
