turnbuckle boost
i have a v.a. box ,4'' exhaust no muff. or res.,and a 4'' round x 12'' long k & n airfilter on my truck. the box was the last thing i put on the truck. anyway i made up the turnbuckle and installed on the truck and went for a ride, heres the problum the truck without the buckle gets about 20lbs boost ,with the buckle about 30lbs boost but loses power. bottom end is about the same but the top end lacks power with the buckle.i like the v.a. it wakes the truck up, but there is never enough is there! do anyone have any ideas on what i can look at next.

Re:turnbuckle boost

Agreed with the above. The computer starts defueling at around 2700 rpm. That is why it seems to lack. A drag comp on 5x5 will fuel all the way to redline. I'd suggest a set of DD2's and a fully built tranny. Looks like another person has been bitten by the BOMBing bug.

Re:turnbuckle boost

heres more--i had a refregator and a kitchen stove aboard the truck on the week end comeing from inland to home on the coast. thats when i tried the turnbuckle. i took it off after 60klms. top speed on my truck is about 110mph with the v.a..-- with the buckle its about 90mph.-- if i am not on a fuel mileage run , i like to drive about 80 mph[140klm] the truck handles well and dosen't seem to sweat it. if i'am getting more boost why woun't the truck do at least the same speed that it can do with normal [20psi] boost. i can understand ,that if this is as fast as it well go , then thats it. but why does seem to loose it at more boost. its only 10lbs with the same amount fuel :'( :'( :'(

Re:turnbuckle boost

You may want to look into the MAP sensor. Also check/clean your IAT sensor. Another thing to look into is the lifter pump. My truck seems to be having a problem with it since I installed the TST box. I need to get a fuel pressure guage installed and see if it is the problem. If it is I am not going to bother with the ******* on it. I will fix it myself and fix it right the first time!
