Unhappy Turbo Boost Low.....

Our average boost for driving is only around 10 or 15....We have gotten boost up to 20 pulling a horse trailor going up one s.o.b of a hill....Is there anything wrong with this, is the turbo dieing?

not sure on a 1st Gen but before any mods on my truck the best I could get out of it was 20-21 psi. normal cruising(65-70) boost was in the 5-8 psi range.

Open it up...floor it. Even empty you should see that 20 - 22 psi. If not something is not right.

you probly have the 18.5cm turbine housing which would limit boost at stock fueling levels
