I was doing some wiring on the trailer behind my truck today and there musta been a short in the trailer cuz when i went to start it it idles at 1600 and wont go any lower. I can rev it up buy not down. And it won't shut off. I unplugged the apps and it died. I'm thinkin the apps is fried. Any ideas? I'm supposed to be going with the trailer tomorrow to pick up my new truck. Would like to be able to go get it

Does the truck have cruise control? If so could you have fed 12 volts directly into the cruise from the brake lights simulating high idle. Possibly have a look at the brake light switch 6 wires 3 sets of contacts and known to be problematic.

Can i just try unplugging it?

I would try that first and if it works ok then you know the problem is on the trailer side.

fixed it. i looked at the attitude monitor an idling it was reading 10% throttle position. so i kicked th pedal real hard and it dropped to 9. kept workin the pedal till it hit zero and it works fine now.
