Truck won't move. Trans problem. Transducer?
I just bought an '01 2500 (110K miles) with an automatic transmission that isn't working at all. If I move the shifter through the gears I can't feel it engage any of them. Sometimes shifting through all the gears over and over it will find a gear but when it does it needs very high rpms to move and will only go a couple of miles an hour.
The fluid is clean and does not smell burnt at all but it shows way over the full mark. My Hypertech found two codes, P1693 and P1762.
My question is, can the gov. transducer and solenoid cause the truck to totally not move? It seems like the only posts I could find were people describing a limp mode but still being able to drive.
I bought the truck this way so I havn't been driving it for a year with transmission problems or anything. I bought it through an auction so I can't ask the previous owner for any info on what the symtoms have been up 'till this point.
Thanks in advance.

A follow up question... If the tranny is done for, would I be able to use a tranny from an '02 2wd I parted out a while back? I know that the rear section is different for a 2wd and a 4wd but can I use that trans if I move the extension housing from the 4X4 over?
Also, what is the "i linkage"?

01 and 02 trannies are interchangable. The OD extension and output shaft have to be interchanged. No big deal other than completelly disassembling the OD unit. this is required to get shaft out.
If overfilled, it might be good to drain ATF and remove pan. Perhaps somethig is amiss that could solve. Like the manual valve disconnected or something. Transducer will not cause your issue.
"i linkage" must be misspelling of shift linkage or throttle linkage. See if levers on left side of tranny move through complete range.
Strongly suspect a tranny overhaul is in your future.
