Truck hesitates when I floor it.
I have 98 dodge 4x4 with about 108000 miles on it. It has a edge ez other then that its stock. When I give it full throttle the truck starts to hesitate or miss. Anyone have any ideas?

You can either buy a test guage the screws on to the schader valve on the VP44 or you can buy a fuel pressure gauge that you mount in a A-Pillar or something...
Just to give you a idea...
I would highly suggest that you buy a set of guages for your truck. You won't be sorry...

Mine was doing the exact same thing a few months ago. Checked my FP at a local Dodge Diesel gathering and my lift pump was shot. Invest in a gauge! It's worth it's weight in gold.

I had the same problem, fixed it last weekend. It was the lift pump. The truck would stumble and run erratically at quick or heavy throttle. Apparently the IP was doing all the work. Hope I didn't harm the IP.
I have a little trick that I used to remove as much of the dreaded air in the line as possible (seemed clever at the time). After the lift pump install I rigged up a vacuum pump to the filter outlet tube (you might as well change the filter while you are at it). I was able to prime the lift pump to prevent it from running dry as well as pull most of the air from the filter canister.
Also, the lift pump I bought from cummins ($160) came with a wiring harness extender that I didn't need. I cut the wires and lengthened them so I could power the pump from the battery without bumping the key over and over. I ran the pump for about 90 seconds to clear the lines further. Worked great for me.
P.S. Hello to all from another new member. Great to have found you!
