I've not yet hit the busted Lift Pump nor toasted VP - yet - Try searching for Lift Pump Codes...or just "Codes", there are a zillion posts, SOMEBODY must have seen the 1639
The Lift Pump apparently won't throw a code, and the Dead VP is 0216.
Your sig indicates that you have gauges, was the fuel pressure okay before it died?
What has your initial troubleshooting found? (Fuel pressure at the filter, fuel through the injectors, etc.)

Found the digging I done... I can't find a 1639 code...
1693 - DTC Detected In Companion Module / DTC Detected In PCM/ECM

This is the best I can find... I think the code number is a typo... (Is it?!)
Hey, Rauschbo hows it going?

The 1693 won't turn on the check engine lamp
Most trucks with any type of modification will throw this code. Its because the processors can't make sense of some of the data. All the manipulation of all the info. going in and out of all the modules sometimes dosn't compute.

Did you crack an injector line to see if you are getting fuel to the injectors? If it is cranking with no attempt to fire, this is the first place to look. My VP died without any codes, must have broken a plunger or something mechanical.
