Truck Died

Even through this my first post I've been roaming here awhile and would like to thank you guys for all your help!!
Here's my problem: This morning while getting onto the freeway my engine shut down. Everything was fine then nothing. I still had electical power, fuel pressure was at 16lbs, comp box was set at 3/3. After coasting to the shoulder I tryed starting it but it wouldn't fire. I check fuses, waited a while and tryed again. Nothing. I checked codes, and 1693 was the only code that came up.
Seeing how 1693 doesn't help me do you guys have any ideas? Thoughts?
VP44?

Welcome to the DTR!!!
Stupid question but did you run out of fuel? Our sending units have been known to give false readings.
Have you tried cracking any injector lines and bumping the starter to check for fuel?
Try that and if you get fuel out of them tighten them 19mm wrench and try to start again.
Anyone near you with a Smarty to read the companion code?

P1693 means there's other codes stored that aren't showing up on the odometer (I presume you used ignition key on/off/on/off/on to check the codes in the odometer window?) You'll have to hook up a scanner to see if anything else comes up...

I should have fuel, I filled up two days ago. I haven't crack the injector line yet I'll try that next. By cracking open an injector line that tells me if the IP is working right?

My problem is I don't have a scanner to check the 1693 code and the truck want start so I can't drive it anywhere. I kind of screwed.

If you do not have fuel at the injectors, go and read this post.

I know the first time I checked mine I was watching close and it showed PCU then the code and then it said done and I turned off the key. Later I let it go longer to see what would happen and after it said done it said ECU and then flashed the P0216. Considering you have only what three computers, the PCM, ECM and the FPCM. My mistake was shutting off the key when I saw the done on the odometer. yeah, call me stupid....

two days before this happened I did run the fuel tank pertty low. Also I did see my fuel pressure gauge jump around like crazy about a week ago. It bounced between 17lbs and 8lbs. It lasted about 5miles of driving. Could this have been air screwing thing up?
I installed the Walbro pump about a month ago because my Carter pump was dieing.
