the drilling out of the banjo bolts allow for more volume of fuel,so more cooling for the pump, ill got to check my records to see what size bit you need.im a little licored up right now.

Rick here: www.vulcanperformance.com
You may have limited success with the aftermarket gass fuel pumps - but remember they arent meant for diesel and some people have went through a number of them. You can get an Airdog, with all the fittings, fuel line, and everything you need for $500. This pump has a lifetime warranty. You will spend over $200 for a setup that may or may not last and has no warranty.

Rick food for thought here, I have thrown the ever so deadly 0216 code numerous times thru the last few years, and I still have the same VP. I use a Carter 4601 HP pump. This has about 4more pounds of pressure than the stock 4601. I understand the reason for drilling out the banjo bolts, but that is a silly idea to me. The best thing is to get rid of them altogether. I have 1/2 inch fuel line into the lift pump & all the way to the VP. Since I did the fuel line upgrade, I have not had any issues except a couple weeks ago, when I replaced my LP. I also threw the 0216 code then, but after replacing the lift pump, no more problems, and I run a Edge Comp with the pump wire tapped. My suggestion is get rid of those tiny metal fuel lines that your pump can't push a speck of dust thru, and you will start seeing better performance out of the lift pump. I got this most recent carter 4601hp from summit for 122 bucks. Good luck

Ive not worked the truck hard till this year. I used a other truck to plow which is a back up now. I used the dodge to pull a trailer from time to time. When I say I work the truck I plow to small lots. My plow route is done in about 2 1/2 hours. This is my 1st diesel and hear alot of great suggestions. The bigger fuel line from the lift pump to the injection pump sounds like it will be first. I want the juice with attitude just for the in cab informaiton. Im thinking about bigger exhaust. Its got to snow to make the money to buy upgrades.

I have a juice w/ attitude and required upgrades wich include a fass. get it and forget about any problems i torture my truck on a regular basis and have not had a problem with my vp44. However i was sent the wrong kit and ended up running my fass to the back of my stock lift pump and it workd out great now i have one more filter (stock) and I always read a steady 26 psi down to 23 24 when i punch it hard but just for a second and goes right back to 26 no hard start issues or anything no large pick up tubes or any of that just about an 1 1/2 hours of install and been happy ever since
